I’m Summer, a big-city girl who’s had Southern Hospitality instilled in me from a young age. Just like the couples I serve, I have an unwavering appreciation for gracious hosting. Ensuring you and yours are cared for and indulged every step of the way is a key part of what makes me an effective destination wedding planner and designer.
My background includes ten years spent coordinating large-scale events for major film companies and nonprofits—but it wasn’t until I planned my own wedding that I found my true passion. As a hopeless romantic (ask me how many times I’ve read Pride & Prejudice) and someone who has immense love for the arts—my interests found a harmonious home in the world of wedding design. I immediately embarked on the journey of learning from industry-leading creatives and, eventually, Summer Newman Events was born.
I’ve since had the pleasure of planning multi-day wedding celebrations for discerning couples across California and beyond, with work featured in Martha Stewart Weddings, Brides, and more. Today, there’s nothing I love more than instilling confidence in the couples I serve—allowing them to remain present throughout their engagement and on their all-important dream day.
